• PP Feijóo proposes tax relief for incomes below 40,000 euros

The president of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, has detailed today the main lines of his new economic plan, which revolves around a tax reduction of between 7,500 and 10,000 million.

In the

National Executive Committee

of his party, and before the motto "less taxes", Feijóo has transmitted his "economic plan", with a first fundamental measure: deflate the income tax rate "for those incomes of less than 40,000 euros", as EL MUNDO has advanced today.

Feijóo recalled that the expected increase in collection for 2022 was 9,000 million, and only in the first two months of the year tax revenue grew by 7,500 million.

So "excess revenue" must be "returned to the citizens."

"It is not the government's money, it is from the citizens who have had to pay as a result of inflation."

"The PP proposes that part of that money, between 7,500 and 10,000 million euros, be returned to the citizens," he said.

In addition to deflation (which would have a fiscal impact of more than 3,500 million euros), he proposes "a negative tax of between 200 and 300 euros on people who receive wages below the threshold that requires them to file their Income Tax ".

The PP also proposes a reduction in taxation by transport, industry or livestock modules, among other sectors, and a cut in

Corporate Tax

, "giving freedom to amortize investments in energy efficiency."

Thirdly, within the tax package, the proposal of the 'popular' goes through an immediate reduction of VAT on electricity.

"VAT on electricity and gas can be lowered to 4% or 5%, as Europe facilitates and accepts," Feijóo stressed before an Executive Committee that the president of Castilla y León

was unable to attend

, due to the snow .

This plan wants to make the PP visible as a "clear and solid alternative" to the Government in the midst of an economic crisis due to the war in Ukraine and the inflationary spiral.

"In these three weeks the Spaniards have already been able to perceive that our policy has changed, and this is a calm, serene and reasonable change," the PP leader proclaimed.

"There is once again a project focused on what Spaniards are most concerned about and occupied with, which is the economy," he said, as opposed to Pablo Casado's stage.

The document that Feijóo will present to the Government on Friday contains shock "interventions" in fiscal policy, "short-term measures" and "medium and long-term reforms" to recover the economy of families and workers.

The first line of the document is the rationalization of public spending and "political spending."

The second, the redesign of European funds.

The third, structural reforms.

And the fourth and fundamental, the aforementioned tax cut "to deal with the massive increase in prices."

"I know that the Government is bothered that we propose tax cuts and apply them in our territories," the president of the PP has been malicious.

The new fiscal proposal of the PP "is already a plan for all of

Spain

", Feijóo has influenced.

"Former Ministers of Finance and Economy, former Secretaries of State, regional councilors have worked on this plan," he explained, before assuring that he is aware that "it will not be easy" for the Government to accept it.

For this reason, Feijóo has proclaimed that "the most important weakness in Spain is the weakness of its Government, which has become accustomed to living beyond its means", and has appealed to center-left voters: "Everyone fits here, even the who voted for the government coalition parties or their parliamentary partners".

"Here they fit," he insisted.
