Even before the end of the presidential election, some members of the Les Républicains (LR) party, supporters of an alliance with the current majority, LREM, are betting on the re-election of Emmanuel Macron and trying to find a place for themselves in what think they are the future majority.

A number of elected officials still difficult to estimate.

Preparing for the afternoon of April 24.

While Emmanuel Macron is the favorite in the polls, the recomposition of the political landscape is being prepared behind the scenes... On the right, the Les Républicains (LR) party is divided between supporters of a government agreement with Emmanuel Macron in the event for re-election and those who refuse at all costs.

Guillaume Larrivé, Jean-François Copé, Philippe Juvin...

Because many anticipate a re-election of Emmanuel Macron but with a much less comfortable score than 5 years ago.

So many names that could be followed the day after the second round by a number of elected officials still difficult to estimate.

Between 10 and 50 according to forecasts, including deputies who are candidates for re-election, such as Damien Abad, or unelected personalities, such as Michel Barnier, whose name is circulating for a ministerial post at the Quai d'Orsay.

The magnitude of the split, the unknown

Conversely, a large proportion of Republicans remain optimistic.

"We have already resisted the most powerful wave in 2017" reassures a manager, who also points to the democratic problem that such an agreement would represent.

"There would be no other opposition than the extremes."

It remains for the right to know the extent of the split to come in the coming months.

The first tremors should come quickly after the second round.
