A broken wing

On D-Day, the gendarmes were assisted by a volunteer from the LPO as well as a member of the Center for the Protection of Wildlife in La Saulce (Hautes-Alpes).

Roped to the wall, the rescuers recovered the eagle using a landing net and placed it in a transport box, heading for the nearest veterinary center, reports

Le Dauphiné

.

The golden eagle, a 5 to 8 year old male, suffered from a broken wing and was slightly malnourished.

He has been placed in a shelter where he can regain his strength before being released, most likely before next summer.
