The weather will be further disturbed on Wednesday in the southern half of the country, forecasts Météo-France, which expects a calm day elsewhere, with alternating clouds and sunny spells.

From New Aquitaine to Occitania, the sky will remain very congested with often generalized and long-lasting rains.

At times, the rainy periods will increase, sometimes accompanied by thunderstorms and giving good accumulations, in particular towards the Basque Country as well as from Roussillon to the south of the Massif Central.

Scattered showers

In the Pyrenees, the rain-snow limit will be around 1,100 to 1,200 m in the west of the chain, 1,600 m then dropping to around 1,400 to 1,500 m in the east.

From the Vendée to the south of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes and PACA, as well as in Corsica, the clouds will prevail in the morning.

They will first give a few scattered showers.

But over the afternoon, on the Massif Central and to the west of Provence, the showers will increase, will be sometimes stormy and will become more and more frequent.

The easterly wind will become quite strong in the south of PACA and, in Corsica, it will reach 60 to 70 km/h in gusts.

On the rest of the country, despite a few cloudy periods and a few possible drops on the North-West, the day promises to be calm with alternating clouds and clearings.

Up to 23 degrees in Corsica

Minimum temperatures will vary between 3 and 8 degrees north of the Loire to the northeast and the Alps, between 5 and 11 degrees in the south, locally 12 or 13 near the Mediterranean.

The maximums will decline further in the South-West and in Brittany, with only 11 to 16 degrees.

Elsewhere, they will reach 16 to 21 degrees, up to 22 or 23 in Corsica.
