(Fighting against New Coronary Pneumonia) Taiwan's first death case of a young child infected with the epidemic will enter the stage of mild home management within a week

China News Agency, Taipei, April 19. Taiwan's "epidemic command center" announced on the 19th that there were 1,626 new local new coronary pneumonia cases, a new high, and 2 new deaths and 101 imported cases.

The whole of Taiwan will enter the stage of home isolation management for mild cases within a week.

According to Taiwanese media reports such as the Central News Agency and the United News Network, the number of cases in Taiwan has continued to increase recently. Among the new local cases announced on the 19th, 800 were asymptomatic infections.

The new local cases were distributed in 21 counties and cities, of which New Taipei City had the most with 583 cases, followed by Taipei City with 287 cases.

The new deaths were a 2-year-old boy and a man in his 90s. This is the first case of a young child who died from the new crown epidemic in Taiwan.

The boy had no history of chronic diseases and was not vaccinated. He became ill on the 13th of this month and was diagnosed on the 15th. After rescue, he still died of brain stem encephalitis complicated by sepsis; the other death case included cancer, heart failure and chronic kidney disease. Shi, who had received 3 doses of the vaccine, became ill on April 13, was diagnosed the next day, and later died of acute renal failure.

Taiwan's "command center" said that more than 1,500 new cases have reached the home isolation standard for mild cases.

Recently, about 10 counties and cities have started this measure one after another. The counties and cities that have not yet started must complete it within a week, and the whole Taiwan has entered the stage of home isolation management for mild cases.

The "Command Center" recently stated that the limit for treating patients with mild or asymptomatic infections of new coronary pneumonia in Taiwan's epidemic prevention hotels is 15,000. Based on the 10-day quarantine for confirmed cases, if more than 1,500 people are diagnosed every day, they will need to start home isolation.

According to another report from China Times News, Taiwan's Pfizer BNT vaccine has been used up, and a new purchase contract has not yet been signed. At present, only Modena, AZ and "high-end" vaccines are left.

Statistics from the "Command Center" on the 18th showed that the coverage rate of the first dose of Taiwan's vaccine was 84.19%, the second dose was 79.42%, and the third dose was 55.61%.

Up to now, a total of 37,710 new coronary pneumonia cases have been confirmed in Taiwan, including 27,767 local cases and 856 deaths.

The 11,541 local cases were confirmed so far this year.
