Nantes motorists coming from the south of the Loire beware.

From this Tuesday evening and until Friday May 6, part of the A83 motorway (Bordeaux-Nantes direction) will be closed near the municipality of Sorinières, between the Courneuve interchange and the Porte des Sorinières (peripheral) , announces the DirOuest.

The construction site aiming to create a lane reserved for public transport at the location of the current hard shoulder will indeed resume.

Objective: to enable buses to avoid frequent traffic jams at peak times.

Work takes place at night, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., except weekends.

A diversion will be put in place, via the ring road, but we must still expect disrupted traffic over the next three weeks.

Commissioning at the start of the school year

A first phase of work took place in December.

The site, which is accompanied by a renewal of the roadway to improve its acoustic properties, could not be held entirely in the winter period.

The commissioning of the bus lane will only be effective at the start of the school year in September.

The marking of the ground specific to the bus lanes, as well as the installation of road signs, will be carried out during the summer.

In addition, the traffic speed is permanently reduced to 70 km/h and to 90 km/h in the sector.

Both directions of traffic will be affected.
