National Assembly Speaker Park Byung-seok has put on hold an overseas business trip scheduled from the 23rd to the 2nd of next month.

Chairman Park's side announced today (20th), "We have requested the understanding of the visiting countries through diplomatic channels."

It seems that the National Assembly had in mind that the discussion regarding the separation of prosecution investigations and prosecutions, which is called 'complete inspection', was in full swing.

The Democratic Party of Korea has waged a speed war over the amendment bill to the Prosecutor's Office Act and the Criminal Procedure Act during the National Assembly in April, saying that the goal is to announce the amendment at the last cabinet meeting of the Moon Jae-in government on the 3rd of next month.

In addition, as Chairman Park's overseas business trip overlapped, the prospect of whether the legislation would be completed quickly within this week was raised.

It is interpreted that Chairman Park opened up the space a little more when there were concerns that it could lead to extreme confrontation between the ruling and opposition parties and even spark controversy over 'rapid legislation'.
