The incidents occurred in the autumn of 2020. The suspect, who is in his 40s, worked as a middle manager with personnel responsibilities at an industrial company and alerted his employer that he had been exposed to threats from other employees, due to his role as manager.

In addition to telling about the threats, he must also have presented three anonymous threatening letters against him - letters which, according to the indictment, were completely fake.

Arranged secret accommodation

After the alleged threats became known to the employer, the company arranged a rental car and secret accommodation for the man, who lived in an apartment that the company paid for for three months.

The company also took an "ethical safety stop" at the factory to investigate the threats against the manager.

Demanded half a million in damages

The company also paid for a security and IT investigation, a risk investigation, a perpetrator profile and for occupational health care for the manager.

In total, the company estimates that the costs of investigating and acting against the threats have landed at just over SEK 450,000.

The boss, who has confessed to the crime, is now being prosecuted for dishonest conduct and his employer is demanding damages from him for the money spent on dealing with the false threats.
