The man was sentenced to four years and nine months in prison in Varberg District Court.
He was convicted of, among other things, five rapes of children, three occasions of aggravated exploitation of children for sexual posing and a felony of child pornography.
Today, April 19, was the last day to appeal.
- We have filed an appeal of the district court's judgment for the points where he was held liable.
It was not our intention from the beginning, we thought the verdict was acceptable, but there have been appeals from the plaintiff's assistants and from the prosecutor so then we had to do it also to take into account our client's interests, says defense attorney Anders Roy.
Roy does not share all the district court's conclusions, but believes that the verdict is very well written and leaves no doubt as to why they ruled as they did.
Therefore, he also did not think that the verdict would be appealed.
- We have tried to clarify what the prosecutor is complaining about, but we have not received it.
It is very unusual for the prosecutor to file an appeal on the last day and also not say why.
So we had to take in and take into account all eventualities, we can not complain later about what we have not raised now, says Anders Roy.
SVT Nyheter Halland has unsuccessfully sought the prosecutor Eva-Lotta Swahn, who demanded 14 years in prison.
