In Tuesday's Aktuellt, Elisabeth Svantesson (M), deputy party leader, Tobias Andersson (SD), legal policy spokesperson, Linda Snecker (V), legal policy spokesperson, and Minister of Justice Morgan Johansson (S) met in a debate about this weekend's riot.

Among other things, it was discussed what tools the police need to be able to respond to this type of situation.

More police and curfews

The moderates want to see more police.

- They were too few - it is quite obvious.

The police also need better tools.

This weekend they could have used water cannons.

They were very helpless in this situation, says Elisabeth Svantesson.

The Sweden Democrats want to ensure that the guilty are imprisoned and punished, but also give the police the opportunity to introduce a state of emergency.

- Simply announce curfews in these areas, step in, establish dominance and suppress this type of riot, says Tobias Andersson.

Law enforcement and crime prevention

Above all, the Left Party wants to create security in vulnerable areas.

- The big question for all politicians must be how do we ensure the protection of the vulnerable areas.

How do we ensure that freedom of expression can be protected at the same time as security is the police's highest priority, says Linda Snecker.

The Social Democrats are pushing for both law enforcement and crime prevention.

- The problem is that for every guy we take, there is one who is willing to fill the place.

Then you have to go in with school, social services, leisure activities - the crime prevention measures - in time and ensure that we have a strong general welfare at the bottom, says Morgan Johansson.
