Japan's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism said the plane took off from Kumamoto Prefecture with three people on board.
At 3:40 p.m. local time on the 18th, the coast security department received an alarm saying that "an aircraft disappeared from the radar". Subsequently, the department sent patrol boats and patrol planes to search at sea, and then 10 kilometers away from a local port. Three men were found at sea, two of whom were in their 80s dead.
