A forest fire broke out on Monday in a wooded area in the town of Banon (Alpes-de-Haute-Provence).

No less than 45 firefighters were mobilized to contain the fire, which threatened a massif of more than 100 hectares.
A favorable wind fanned the flames towards the wooded area.
Between 5 and 6 hectares destroyed
A bomber plane also intervened and carried out three “delaying product” drops over an area difficult to access by land.
In the end, the forest fire only destroyed 5 to 6 hectares before being brought under control.
The fire was contained around 6 p.m. the same day.
The firefighters were still on site in the evening to monitor the blaze and prevent any resumption of flames in favor of the wind.
