A family of three was found murdered in an apartment on Universitetsky Prospekt in Moscow: a 51-year-old man and a 47-year-old woman, as well as their underage 13-year-old daughter.

According to a number of media reports, the dead are the former vice director of Gazprombank Vladislav Avaev, his wife and their child.

“They were discovered by a relative, having learned from the family driver and nanny that they could not get through on the phone and get into the apartment, since the door was closed from the inside,” the official statement on the website of the Moscow Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia says.

According to the agency, several versions of what happened are now being considered, the main one is that the head of the family himself shot his wife and daughter, after which he committed suicide.

The media specify that the bodies of Avaev and his wife were found in one room, and the body of his daughter in another.

The Investigative Committee added that immediately after the discovery of the bodies in the apartment on Universitetsky Prospekt, Andrei Strizhov, head of the Main Investigation Department for the city of Moscow, and his deputy, Sergei Yarosh, arrived at the scene.

“The investigating authorities of the Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the city of Moscow initiated a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Art.

105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (murder of two or more persons)," the UK said.

In addition, the course of the investigation into the brutal murder of a family in the west of Moscow has been taken under control in the capital's prosecutor's office.

Lawsuits over a child

After it became known about the terrible find on Universitetsky Avenue, several media outlets reported that jealousy was a possible motive for the murder: allegedly Avaev found out about his wife's infidelity and decided to deal with her, and then got rid of their common daughter, who became an unwitting witness to the murder.

A number of media outlets also reported that the murdered wife of Avaev allegedly had an affair with a personal driver, which her husband found out about.

According to some reports, at the time of the murder, the woman was five months pregnant.

The investigating authorities do not confirm this information.

According to journalists, it was the driver of the Avaev family who helped to find the bodies of the dead.

Shortly before the murder, Avaev himself allegedly called him, but when the driver arrived at his house, no one opened the door and did not answer the calls.

Suspecting something was wrong, the driver contacted a relative of the banker, she arrived, entered the apartment and saw the bodies of the murdered relatives.

After the murder of a well-known family in Moscow, there were reports in the media that the relationship between Avaev and his wife had deteriorated long before the fateful events.

So, in 2021, a woman sued her husband for the right of sole custody of their 13-year-old daughter Maria.

Avaev, in turn, also insisted on raising his daughter without the participation of his wife.

As RT found out, the mother of the child filed a lawsuit with the Nikulinsky court in October 2021.

Despite the litigation between the spouses, there was no talk of their divorce at that time, it was the guardianship of the daughter, who suffered from epilepsy, that became the subject of the dispute.

On this basis, the child was even diagnosed with a disability.

The claim of Avaev's wife for sole custody of Maria was subsequently withdrawn, this happened in December 2021.

It is noteworthy that in 2014, the banker Avaev used his daughter's diagnosis in another lawsuit - then the financier sued the Presidential Administration, where until 2012 he worked as deputy head of the department.

The official's claim was also considered by the Nikulinsky Court.

Avaev filed a lawsuit there because he was dissatisfied with the apartment that his employer provided him.

The man insisted that because of his daughter's illness, his family did not have enough apartment with an area of 109.4 square meters.

m, provided to them under a social lease agreement, and demanded more spacious housing.

At that time, Avaev failed to convince the court that he was right, he lost the case.

At various times, Avaev worked in the State Duma of the Russian Federation, as well as in the already mentioned Office of the President.

At some point, the man decided to leave the civil service and go into business.

In addition, he served as CEO of RT-Carbon, and later took over a controlling stake in Carbonix LLC.

This organization was engaged in scientific development in Kaliningrad and St. Petersburg, however, as the media wrote, in 2020 profits began to fall, and the company was on the verge of ruin.
