According to TASS with reference to the agency, the department expressed confidence in the presence of Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov at the upcoming meetings in a virtual format.

Reuters, citing the same official, noted that Yellen will miss a number of G20 events to emphasize the need to exclude Russia from global financial institutions.

US leader Joe Biden has previously proposed excluding Russia from the G20.

But he acknowledged that this decision is up to the G20 countries.

The press secretary of the Russian leader, Dmitry Peskov, said that the G20 format is important, but under the current conditions, exclusion from it would be “not fatal” for Russia.
