The department noted that in the Zaporozhye region, an officer of the Russian Guard, Senior Lieutenant Perkov, destroyed two nationalists from the sabotage and reconnaissance unit.
He diverted attention to himself and gave the opportunity to subordinates to take up positions for defense.
Even after being mortally wounded, Perkov continued to fire until the last bullet.
“As a result of the courageous actions of the officer of the National Guard, the attack of the nationalists was repulsed.
In the same battle, senior sergeant R. Babakhov and corporal D. Koshelev distinguished themselves, ”the Russian Guard said.
It is specified that Babakhov suppressed two enemy firing points and destroyed the machine-gun crew of the nationalists and at the same time covered his wounded commander, who was being assisted.
Corporal Koshelev, in turn, revealed the position of a grenade launcher firing at armored vehicles, and destroyed him with an accurate shot.
Earlier, Russian Deputy Defense Minister Dmitry Bulgakov presented state awards to wounded Russian servicemen who distinguished themselves during a special operation to protect the LPR and DPR.
The award ceremony took place at the Military Clinical Hospital of the Russian Ministry of Defense in Krasnogorsk, Moscow Region.
