President Moon Jae-in rejected today (18th) the resignation of Prosecutor General Kim Oh-soo, who resigned in protest against the so-called 'completely deprived of the prosecution's investigative authority' recently promoted by the Democratic Party of Korea.

President Moon also plans to meet with President Kim today, Blue House spokeswoman Park Kyung-mi said at a briefing.

A key official at the Blue House explained, "I rejected President Moon's decision because the prosecutor-general, who had a guaranteed term, submitted his resignation."

Politicians are analyzing that President Moon has put the brakes on the conflict between the Democratic Party and the prosecution so that it does not lead to catastrophe.

If President Kim resigns, this could lead to collective action by other prosecutors, and in this case, an 'all-out war' between the Democratic Party and the prosecution was inevitable.

In the interview, President Moon is expected to repeatedly emphasize communication between the prosecution and the National Assembly to Kim.

Inside the Blue House, President Moon emphasizes dialogue with the Democratic Party and the prosecution and takes the form of a kind of 'mediation', paying attention to whether the 'powerful confrontation' between the two sides will also find a breakthrough.

Earlier, President Kim requested a meeting with President Moon in protest against the bill, but a high-ranking official at the Blue House said, "Now is the time for legislation. It is the time for the National Assembly to discuss (legislation)." has been implied.

In this regard, a key official at the Blue House explained, "Some media reported that (President Moon) had refused an interview, but he did not refuse (interview)."
