In Stockholm County, the number of lynx has increased since last year and SVT followed to a footbridge in the Södertälje area where lynx were captured on game camera.

- After the end of the spring count, the number of lynx has increased with another lynx family, which may be due to the fact that there are a lot of deer to eat and that there has been no protection hunting here for a few years, says Mikael Fransson, game manager at the County Administrative Board in Stockholm.

Lynx in Stockholm County

The County Administrative Board inventories the lynx in the county with the help of tracks, cameras and via the Scandobs app where the public can submit tips.

There are currently six lynx groups moving in Stockholm County, but three of them share an area with Uppland and Södermanland.

In total, about 33 lynx move in Stockholm County in the areas around Vallentuna, Norrtälje and Södertälje.

A lynx group is calculated by the county administrative board as a mother and her cubs as well as an estimated calculation to include the males.
