“The government has already approved the corresponding concept, and now a list of concrete steps for its implementation has been prepared,” he said.

Mishustin recalled that during a recent meeting, Russian President Vladimir Putin called increasing the production and supply of high-quality, affordable food products a key task for 2022.

He noted that the government will implement these instructions, among other things, by creating a system of wholesale food markets to help Russian agricultural producers sell their products as close as possible to consumers in large cities.

“This will provide a wide choice of products for everyone,” the prime minister said.

Earlier, Mishustin called on Russian regions to monitor prices for essential goods and medicines.
