It was in connection with a traffic control outside Lidköping at 9 pm on Saturday evening that a police officer tried to wave in a car that came driving in what was perceived as too high a speed on the road in question.
But instead of stopping, the driver chose to drive to the police.
- It met the colleague somewhere at a speed of between 50 and 70 kilometers per hour, says Johan Ljung, officer on duty at the police in the West region.
The police suffered injuries to their legs and lower body and are now being cared for in hospital.
The injuries are not considered life-threatening.
The driver deviated after the accident but had still not been found at three o'clock on Sunday night.
On Monday morning, a 55-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
