Jönköping residents cycle more than ever.
It shows new figures that the bicycle meters around the city have registered.
- If you compare with the figures from 2019 onwards, this is by far the best year.
This is an increase of 29 percent compared to 2019, says Olle Gustafsson, project manager for sustainable travel in Jönköping municipality.
Olle Gustafsson says that since 2017 there has been a cycling program where completely new approaches have been taken to how wide the cycle paths should be and that there should be space for both pedestrians and cyclists.
This is so that it will not be as crowded as he thinks it has historically been before.
