A fire broke out in the night from Saturday to Sunday on a 30-meter yacht flying the Austrian flag and moored at the quay since the evening before in the port of Saint-Mandrier (Var).

Three sailors, crew members of Austrian nationality, were rescued by firefighters, but a fourth is still missing, nearly 36 hours after the incident.

The firefighters took about ten hours to extinguish the fire, the origin of which is not known, and managed to prevent the ship from sinking.

Hydrocarbon pollution control operations have been initiated.

In all, about fifty firefighters and rescuers were mobilized.
