After the health scandal which affected certain products of the Kinder brand, owner of the Ferrero group, the secretary general of the chocolate union wants to be reassuring.

Guest of "France moves", on Europe 1, Gilles Rouvière assures that there is "no worry" now to buy the brand's products present on the shelves.

INTERVIEW

Extinguish a fire.

While suspicions of salmonellosis in Kinder chocolates have had the effect of seeing the French rush to chocolate makers at Easter, the chocolate union wants to be reassuring about the brand's products belonging to the giant Ferrero [which is a member of the union, editor's note].

Guest of "France moves", the secretary general of the organization, Gilles Rouvière, assures him: "Don't worry, all of Ferrero's chocolates […] are quite present on the shelves and are waiting for consumers. ."

"No risk does not exist"

Always with a view to reassuring consumers, Gilles Rouvière continues: "We must never forget that the food industry is extremely controlled, extremely standardized, with a lot of regulation."

And if he admits that "zero risk does not exist", the general secretary insists on the seriousness with which Ferrero reacted "by voluntarily withdrawing all the lots, informing the consumer, working finely with the authorities".

An attitude which shows, according to Gilles Rouvrière, that "we do not underestimate the stakes".
