China News Agency, Beijing, April 18 (New Delhi): India's Assam Disaster Management Agency issued an announcement on the 17th that at least 14 people have been killed in the state of Assam suffered heavy rains and lightning disasters.

More than 12,000 houses in Assam were damaged by heavy rain and lightning.

The local rescue department is carrying out rescue operations.

  Northeastern India, including Assam and Meghalaya, has been hit by heavy rainfall and thunderstorms since the beginning of April this year, causing floods and landslides in some areas.

The Indian Meteorological Department predicts that in the next few days, rain and thunderstorms will continue in northeastern India, including Assam.
