14 people were injured in a shooting at a US shopping mall in broad daylight over the weekend, the Associated Press reported on the 16th.

According to Columbia Police, the US state's capital, nine shoppers aged 15 to 73 were shot and five were injured while evacuating in a shooting at a crowded Columbiana Center shopping mall around 2 p.m. the day before Easter, according to Columbia Police.

No deaths were reported.

Police said one 73-year-old injured person is still being treated at the hospital, but the others have been discharged or will be discharged soon.

Police believe at least three people have taken guns from inside the mall, and are investigating how many actually fired.

Police arrested three people shortly after the incident, including one 22-year-old man as a suspect.

He is expected to face charges of illegal firearm possession, the AP explained.

The police said that the conflict between the suspects who knew each other appeared to have led to the shooting, and said that it was determined that the shooting was not indiscriminately aimed at an unspecified number of people.
