Russia gives Ukrainian forces a choice between laying down their arms or dying
The TASS news agency, citing the Russian Defense Ministry, said that the Ukrainian forces still fighting in Mariupol will survive on their own if they lay down their weapons starting at 6 a.m. Moscow time (0300 GMT) on Sunday.
Russia said the remaining fighters, which it says are Ukrainian and foreign, are trapped in the Azovstal steel plant.
TASS quoted Colonel Mikhail Mizintsev, director of the Russian National Center for Defense Management, as saying the situation at the plant was "catastrophic".
