The mother tells SVT Nyheter Blekinge how the 23-year-old first came into contact with the drugs already at the age of 15.

It started with cannabis, but towards the end oxycontin became his main drug.

The mother describes how they sought help from several different care institutions and authorities, but says that they were just locked around.

- Nobody wanted to help him.

When they found out that he had a drug addiction, it was just thank you and hello, she says.

Lived a criminal life

Instead, the 23-year-old began a criminal career, with thefts, drug offenses and traffic offenses.

The latest sentence against him fell in February this year, when he was sentenced to 20 months in prison for robbing a private person.

He had not yet begun to serve his sentence.

- His life was a long uphill, and he was a criminal.

If you have a drug addiction and do not get help, then you become a criminal.

And he had feelings of guilt because he caused so much concern for us, says the 23-year-old's father.

- He was not able to get out of the addiction.

He had the world's biggest heart.

But the drugs ruined it, says the mother.

Shot to death in a car park

On Wednesday, the 23-year-old was shot to death in a car park in central Karlshamn.

A man in his late teens is in custody on probable cause on suspicion of murder, but denies the crime.

The 23-year-old was able to call SOS himself, but was dead when the police arrived at the scene.

- One of his friends wrote to me, that now he has peace and quiet.

And that's how I see it too, says the mother.
