- It has been very violent here - cars are on fire and both the police and we have had stones thrown at us, says SVT's reporter Carl Bruno Tersmeden.

The stones did not go through the windshield or side windows but fortunately hit the roof and doors of SVT's car.

- It was scary and nothing happens every day, but thankfully we were unharmed.

During the riots on Thursday, it was worse, when at least ten policemen were injured.

Tersmeden tells how groups of black-clad and masked people grouped themselves in the area, after rumors that the anti-Islamic politician Rasmus Paludan would come to Norrköping on Sunday as well, something that did not happen after that.

But there was violence anyway.

Veronica Gardell, responsible publisher for SVT Öst, is very concerned about the development:

- What happened to our team on the spot is a very serious threat to freedom of expression.

If journalists are hindered or even harmed when they report on what is happening in our society, it is in the long run a threat to democracy.

Our team in Navestad miraculously survived unscathed, but next time they may not have the same luck.
