- It is big and important for the parish to have a new hub in the city with both parish homes and a modern church that works for our business, says Kerstin Holmberg who is property manager for the Church of Sweden in Norrköping.

With great enthusiasm, Kerstin shows us around the magnificent church.

The gaze draws on the massive stone pillars that support the arched and decorative wooden roof.

New details are constantly being discovered and it is difficult not to be impressed by the richness of detail inside the church, which has a 130-year history.

On April 13, 1887, the first foundation stone was laid and in May 1892, the church was ready for consecration.

Renovated for 16 months

- I can talk about this church for any length of time, says Kerstin Holmberg, while she enthusiastically shows original paintings on the walls.

For 16 months, the church has been restored and renovated at a cost of about 25 million kronor.

- The first priority was to get an adaptation for the activities, not least at the choir and up to the church.

In addition, we have put together a surface renovation together with both conservators and painters and returned a lot in the color scheme of the church.

In addition, we have all the legal requirements for electricity and evacuation and fire protection, says Kerstin Holmberg.
