Russia bans British Prime Minister Boris Johnson from entering its territory

Moscow announced on Saturday that it had banned entry to Prime Minister Boris Johnson and several other British officials after London imposed sanctions on Russia over its military operation in Ukraine.

"This step was taken in response to London's media and political campaign aimed at isolating Russia internationally and creating conditions to stifle our economy," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

The ministry accused London of "committing unprecedented hostilities" in reference to the sanctions imposed on Russian officials.

"The British leadership is deliberately aggravating the situation related to Ukraine, supplying the Kyiv regime with lethal weapons and coordinating similar efforts on behalf of NATO," the ministry added.

Those affected include British Deputy Prime Minister Dominic Raab, Foreign Secretary Liz Truss, Defense Minister Ben Wallace, former Prime Minister Theresa May and Scotland's First Minister Nicola Sturgeon.
