As stated in the message on the agency's website, the corresponding decision was made following the results of "careful study with the Turkish side of the issues of ensuring the supply of high-quality and safe fruit and vegetable products" to Russia.

Also, Russian experts informed the Turkish authorities about the requirements for monitoring the content of pesticides in food products and explained what measures should be taken to eliminate previously detected violations.

In December 2021, Rospotrebnadzor suspended the import to Russia of certain types of vegetables and fruits from Turkey and Iran.

It was noted that such a decision was made after they found the residual amounts of 12 pesticides, ten of which cannot be used in Russia.
