Neither Tomas Stjernfeldt nor Nicklas Hallgren, deputy regional police chief in Bergslagen, want to say if and how the police have failed in their actions before an evaluation has been made.

- The self-criticism, we have it.

But there are others who must also feel the self-criticism in the coming days, says Nicklas Hallgren, and refers to the people who have been violent on the spot.

Police: Was surprised

The demonstration that was to be held in Örebro during Good Friday never had time to start, when riots broke out at the site.

Several policemen were injured and a private person was hit by a stone in the head.

No person has been arrested.

- We were a little surprised by the level of aggression.

But we were prepared and had good skills and abilities in place.

Not only from Bergslagen but also from other regions in the country, says Peter Karlsson, chief of police at the Bergslagen region, in SVT's Morgonstudion.

Prior to the demonstration in Örebro, similar scenes had taken place in Östergötland and Stockholm.

- Of course we have a dialogue with other regions about previous experiences.

Our goal is to be able to implement it in a safe way, given that it is a constitutionally protected right to manifest one's opinions, said Christina Hallin, press communicator at the police in the Bergslagen region, before the demonstration in Örebro.
