“On Sunday April 17, 2022, from midnight to midnight, the individual or collective movement, by any means, of any person claiming the status of supporter of Olympique de Marseille or behaving as such, is prohibited between the municipalities. of the department of Bouches-du-Rhône, on the one hand, and the municipalities of the region of Ile-de-France, on the other hand", specifies the ministerial decree published on the eve of the match scheduled for Sunday at 8:45 p.m.

This decision, usual for matches between PSG and OM, historic rivals in the French football championship, is particularly justified by "animosity" and "strong antagonism" between the supporters of the two clubs.

The last PSG-OM classic in the presence of supporters of both teams dates back to February 28, 2018 and "eight members of the police were injured" that day, underlines the decree.

Several incidents involving supporters in Lyon, Nice, Marseille, Lens, Brest and Angers have taken place this season in Ligue 1, leading the Disciplinary Committee of the Professional Football League (LFP) to take numerous sanctions against against clubs.

The movement of Lensois supporters to Lille on Saturday (9:00 p.m.) for the North derby was also prohibited.

PSG and OM face off on Sunday (8:45 p.m.) when they occupy the first two places in the standings, the Parisians having a comfortable 12-point lead over the Marseillais.
