Israeli police suppressed a student demonstration at Bir Zeit University in the West Bank.

While Hamas denied the existence of any truce, Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz spoke of the possibility of reaching a peaceful solution based on two separate entities, amid continued Palestinian anger in response to the occupation's storming of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Student sources reported that the occupation soldiers fired tear gas and rubber bullets at a student stand at Birzeit University.

Thousands of Palestinian students gathered at Birzeit University to denounce the violations of the Israeli occupation of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the oppression of Palestinians in Jerusalem and the West Bank, particularly in the city of Jenin.

The participants in the vigil raised Palestinian flags, chanting slogans calling for freedom.

The occupation forces stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque at dawn yesterday, Friday, and attacked worshipers using tear gas, in addition to sound and smoke bombs, in an attempt to evacuate the mosque and its courtyards.

The occupied city of Jerusalem also witnessed a quiet night in which thousands of citizens gathered in the Bab al-Amoud area and the old city markets after Tarawih prayers.

The Israeli occupation authorities continue their siege of the West Bank and Gaza Strip crossings with the Jewish Passover.

It is scheduled that the Israeli security leaders conduct an assessment of the situation to determine security measures against the Palestinians in the coming days.

Meanwhile, the occupation police decided to conditionally release more than 80 Palestinians whom it had arrested at dawn on Friday from inside the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The occupation stipulated that they be deported from Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque for 15 days, and the occupation police released 330 detainees yesterday evening, while 30 prisoners will remain in detention until they are presented to investigation officers from the Israeli police this evening, Saturday.

mobilize

For its part, Hamas denied the existence of any truce with the Israeli occupation, and considered that what is being circulated in this regard through the Hebrew and Arab media is untrue.

Hamas said it is continuing its field efforts and political contacts to stop the Zionist aggression against the people of Palestine and the holy sites, especially Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The movement renewed its call to the Palestinians to continue their crawl, travel and retreat in Al-Aqsa Mosque.

In turn, the Palestinian Foreign Ministry said that the ongoing Israeli occupation aggression against the Palestinian people, their sanctities, land and property is a direct result of what it described as the inability of the international community to restore the political horizon.

The ministry added, in a statement, that this aggression comes as a direct result of the Israeli occupation government's closing of the negotiated political horizon to resolve the conflict.

This was considered an attempt to gain time to complete its expansionist colonial project in the land of the State of Palestine, and to Judaize Jerusalem and its sanctities.

The statement called on the international community, the US administration and the Security Council to put pressure on the occupation government to force it to engage in a peace process and substantive negotiations with the Palestinian side in accordance with international peace references and the Arab Peace Initiative.

two separate entities

For his part, Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz said that the political solution with the Palestinians is based on two separate entities, Israeli and Palestinian, while maintaining Israeli hegemony in the entire region.

In statements carried by the Israeli Broadcasting Corporation, he added that the political separation of the two entities must be paralleled by economic cooperation between them.

The Israeli minister considered that this solution guarantees geographical contiguity between the Palestinian areas through the establishment of transportation infrastructure.

Gantz said that reaching peace in the broad sense is difficult, noting that he is trying to create a better reality that guarantees Israel to live in peace and calm.

The Israeli Defense Minister stressed that he attaches great importance to the talks he is holding with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, who opposes violence and directs Palestinian efforts to the political arena, according to him.
