The Russians captured Britain fighting in the Ukrainian army

The "Daily Telegraph" reported on Friday that the Russians had arrested a British member of the Ukrainian army, whose mother, through the British newspaper, asked him to be treated "humanely" and to be released.

On Thursday evening, Russian public television broadcast pictures of a young man handcuffed and wounded in the forehead, which he said was Aidan Aslin.

His mother, Ang Wood, confirmed to the newspaper, which devoted several articles to the 28-year-old, including before the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, that he is indeed her son and has a distinctive tattoo.

The newspaper mentioned Russian President Vladimir Putin of the Geneva agreement on prisoners of war, noting that "Edin is an active member of the Ukrainian armed forces and is therefore a prisoner of war ... who must be treated humanely."

"It appears that he has been beaten and it is time for the British government to act to secure Aiden's release," she added.

According to a message shared after consulting with his family on social networking sites run by his relatives who hope to exchange prisoners, the young man explained Tuesday that after 48 days, "during which we made our utmost efforts to defend Mariupol (southeast of the country), we had no choice but to surrender to Russian forces." .

"We had neither food nor ammunition... I hope this war will end soon," he added.

The newspaper reported that Aiden Aslin, better known as Johnny, joined the Ukrainian Navy in 2018 and bought a house in the country to start a family with his fiancée.
