The “Billion Meals” initiative cooperates with the network of regional food banks, the United Nations World Food Program, the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Humanitarian and Charity Establishment, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, the Emirates Food Bank, and charitable, humanitarian and social organizations in the countries covered by the initiative. , in order to make optimal use of the capabilities of its international, regional and local partners in its operations to reach the equivalent of one billion meals of food support for the less fortunate groups, especially children, refugees, displaced persons and those affected by humanitarian crises and natural disasters around the world.The initiative’s partners contribute to mobilizing the efforts of the largest possible number of organizations, institutions and individuals to serve the cause of facing the challenge of hunger, and to provide food aid from the “Billion Meals” initiative to those in need in 50 countries, which also contributes to achieving the sustainable development goals set by the United Nations for 2030. Including the goal of eliminating hunger in the world, in addition to opening the door for everyone to contribute to charitable and humanitarian work as a sustainable option.

The founding member and head of the Dubai-based regional food banks network, Moez Al-Shahdi, confirmed that the network is fully prepared as a partner for the "Billion Meals" initiative for distribution operations in a number of countries covered by the initiative, in coordination with food banks there.

For her part, Director of the Office of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, Sarah Al Nuaimi, said, "The cooperation of the (Billion Meals) initiative with the network of regional food banks is a continuation of the continuous coordination path between Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, and the network specialized in several support projects. food for the needy in the region and the world.

The Regional Food Banks Network is an umbrella for dozens of food banks that have supported its establishment in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia, in order to help feed the needy, end hunger and fight food waste.

The network saved 58 million meals as a monthly average during 2021, and the network was able to help 3.2 million families affected by the complete closure during the “Corona” pandemic, and qualified 810 thousand volunteers.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the “Tiger Group”, Walid Al-Zoubi, announced his support for the “billion meals” initiative, the largest in the region to provide relief to the needy, by providing an amount of six million dirhams, for the largest campaign of its kind in the region, to provide food support to the needy, the poor and those who suffer from insecurity Food is one of the least advantaged groups in 50 countries.

With his contribution, Al-Zoubi joins many institutions, companies, businessmen and individuals who have announced their support for the efforts of the "Billion Meals" initiative, to reach direct food support to particularly vulnerable groups of children, refugees, displaced people and those affected by crises and disasters around the world.
