The Quebec Ministry of Health apologized on Thursday after posting a tweet updating the evolution of Covid-19 cases in the Canadian province with a link that mistakenly referred to the Pornhub porn site.

“Due to a situation beyond our control, a link with inappropriate content has been posted on our Twitter account.

We are looking for the causes.

We are sorry for the inconvenience,” the ministry wrote after deleting the post in question.

The shortened link was originally supposed to broadcast the most recent data on the pandemic in Canada's French-speaking province, which recorded more than 3,100 new cases and 26 additional deaths on Thursday.

“Checks are in progress”

The ministry explained that the link “has been diverted to a non-recommendable site”.

Pornhub, one of the most popular porn sites on the planet, is a subsidiary of the Montreal-based company MindGeek, domiciled in Luxembourg.

“As soon as we were made aware of the situation, we deleted the tweet,” the ministry said.
