Of the approximately 500 people, eleven did not make an active choice of a new home care service until Wednesday.

According to information to SVT, several elderly people have felt stressed that development assistance officers called several times and asked for information and experienced that they were not allowed to choose a new home care service themselves.

We have received some comments and questions about this.

In some cases, for example, you have a security alarm that is a home care service and then you have the provider who is closest geographically.

This means that you may not be able to choose a provider that is not in the geographical area where you live.

When it comes to home health care, it has been possible to choose, but most users want the staff close by if, for example, they press the security alarm, says Yvonne Jonsson, head of department at the care and welfare administration in Uppsala municipality.

How do you see people having to choose a new home care service?

-

We understand that it creates a certain amount of concern, so the actual takeover and reception from the new contractor is very important.

Changes also take place otherwise, but in this extraordinary situation, the users themselves have not chosen to choose a new provider and we understand that this creates an extra dimension of concern, says Yvonne Jonsson.

"The ground was torn away"

One of those who needed to choose a new home care service is 95-year-old Neita Lundqvist.

It was as if the ground was pulled away from our feet.

Suddenly, almost from one day to the next, we learned that Attendo was just away from Uppsala.

I really hope that I get to keep the staff I had, it means the most to me with this transition, says Neita Lundqvist.
