This Wednesday, little Rémi, 11, was able to leave the Bordeaux University Hospital with a new heart.

He will have spent 14 months in hospital, awaiting a heart transplant.

Equipped with an artificial heart during this long waiting period, his condition required extensive care.

Last January,

20 Minutes

interviewed Nadir Tafer, head of the anesthesia resuscitation unit for pediatric and adult congenital heart disease, who supervised the care given to Rémi.

The little Toulousain finally sees the end of the tunnel and will be taken care of for some time at the Toulouse University Hospital, before returning home.

Rémi came to us in March 2021: an artificial heart and a long wait for a heart transplant.
