On April 12, the Ukrainian president released a photo of Medvedchuk sitting in handcuffs.

Later, he offered to exchange the detained leader of the Opposition Platform for Life for Ukrainian prisoners of war.

The media reported that the adviser to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Vadim Denisenko, on the air of the Rada channel, said that it was necessary to “conduct the fastest possible trial” of Medvedchuk, after which “give him an appropriate term,” and then “beat certain testimony out of him.”
