  According to reports, in an interview with Korean media on the 15th, a relevant person from the South Korean Handover Commission said that everything has not yet been decided, but according to their understanding, South Korea and the United States are coordinating the arrangements for the summit meeting.

  Won Il-hee, chief deputy spokesman of the Korea Handover Commission, did not confirm the news at a press conference that afternoon.

He said the South Korea-U.S. summit was inconclusive, and the date (May 21) itself was not under discussion or consideration.

  Korean media also said that the South Korean side hopes that Biden can visit South Korea before the visit.

The Korea-US Policy Consultative Group said during its visit to the United States that it hoped to take advantage of Biden's visit to Asia to hold the Korea-US summit as soon as possible.

  According to previous reports, on April 11, US President Biden said that he is expected to visit Japan in late May.

If realized, this will be Biden's first visit to Japan since he took office.
