Tags and fires.

Two second homes were destroyed in southern Corsica, in the town of Conca.

Presumably, the claims are voluntary, and slogans were written on them: "IFF" (I Francese Fora, or the French outside) and "Fora", we learned Thursday from the prosecution.

“One burned in the night and it seems that the other burned a little before but no one saw it.

It's part of the questions, "said the prosecution to AFP, adding that the two were tagged and that there is no victim.

"We are obviously very interested in a possible link between these different fires of second homes," a source close to the investigation told AFP, without excluding the possibility of "false leads" induced by the tags.

An investigation for destruction by incendiary means was opened and entrusted to the gendarmerie.

A small group not yet identified by the authorities

Already on Wednesday, a second home belonging to a Swiss national claiming Corsican origins had been set on fire in Pianotolli (South Corsica), again without causing any casualties.

Tags “IFF”, “Liberta”, “Per tè Yvan” (“For you Yvan”), “Fora Francia” (“France outside”) as well as “Youth action for the rebirth of Corsica” and “AJRC “Were discovered on the walls of this villa” devastated “by the flames, had specified to AFP the public prosecutor of Ajaccio, Nicolas Septe.

"We have not yet identified this small group in the landscape, except that it would have appeared recently", added the magistrate, specifying that there too an investigation for destruction by fire had been opened and that the National Prosecutor's Office counter-terrorism has been notified.

Residences in Haute-Corse also targeted

A week ago, an arson attack targeted another second home, in Canale-di-verde (Haute-Corse), which had already been the target of two destruction attempts.

The house bore the tag "Per Yvan", in reference to Yvan Colonna, the Corsican independence activist sentenced to life for the assassination of the prefect Erignac in 1998 and who died on March 21, after his attack in early March in the prison of Arles. (Bouches-du-Rhone).

The next day, a second home belonging to a continental and located in Ghisonaccia (Haute-Corse) had also been damaged, by a probably criminal explosion.
