Three men have appeared since Tuesday before the Assize Court of Val-d'Oise.

The first is accused of murder, his cousin of complicity in murder and the third, from a rival gang, of attempted murder, reports

Le Parisien

.

The facts date back to August 1, 2018, when a 21-year-old young man was killed during a brawl in Franconville (Val-d'Oise).

Several fights between two gangs had taken place the previous days.

It was during one of these brawls that the victim died, after receiving several stab wounds in the back.

Several brawls to consider

The trial must determine the precise circumstances of this final brawl and the facts and rumors that led to the escalation of violence between the two gangs.

A first altercation had taken place while one of the defendants was flirting with two teenage girls from the neighborhood.

A second altercation occurred the next day.

The third suspect, charged with attempted murder, was injured.

In the final scuffle, the victim's alleged killer suffered a head injury.

The verdict will be rendered this Friday, April 15.
