An investigation has been opened into a municipal employee of Châtillon (Hauts-de-Seine) suspected of embezzlement.
The latter worked for the Châtillonnaise Association for the activities of retirees and the elderly (Acarpa), which offers activities and trips to seniors in the town, reports
Le Parisien
.
Victims still not reimbursed
The suspect would have embezzled around 50,000 euros since 2019. The money had been paid by around fifty Acarpa members who wanted to book planned trips to Uzbekistan and Portugal, which have since been canceled.
The victims were informed in June 2021 of the employee's embezzlement.
The president of Acarpa filed a complaint.
The investigation must now determine the exact amount that was stolen.
For retired members, the wait is long.
They have still not been reimbursed and will probably have to wait for the end of the procedure.
Acarpa does not currently have the funds to reimburse the victims.
