The Lebanese government agrees to demolish the wheat silos damaged by the Beirut port explosion

The Lebanese Minister of Information Ziad Makari said that the government agreed today, Thursday, to demolish the wheat silos affected by the explosion of Beirut Port on August 4, 2020, which killed at least 215 people.

After a cabinet session, Makari said the decision was based on a "technical report" that concluded that the silos were likely to collapse in the coming months, adding that renovating them would be very costly.

The technical report says that the waivers may fall after a few months and can be repaired.
