According to her, Medvedchuk's detention is "obvious persecution for political views, the fight against dissent and the grossest violation of the foundations of democracy and parliamentarism."
“I believe that the situation with Viktor Vladimirovich Medvedchuk requires the maximum attention of international institutions and organizations.
Therefore, I instructed to prepare an appeal to the Inter-Parliamentary Union Committee on Human Rights regarding the parliamentarian,” she said.
The document will be sent to the Secretary General of the organization in the near future.
