Putin holds a meeting on the situation in the oil and gas sector

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russian President Vladimir Putin will hold a meeting tomorrow, on the situation in the oil and gas sector, with the presentation of the main report by Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak, who is responsible for this issue.

Western countries, in response to Russia's special military operation in Ukraine, imposed a number of anti-Russian sanctions.

Some of them have directly or indirectly affected the Russian oil and gas sectors.

The United States announced a ban on Russian energy imports (with the exception of uranium), which was followed up by the United Kingdom by announcing that by the end of 2022 it would stop importing oil and petroleum products from Russia.

Poland also wants to stop buying oil from Russia by the end of the year, however, so far the European Union has refrained from imposing a collective ban on oil and gas imports from Russia, realizing its dependence on it.
