“Two of the latest diesel-electric submarines of the Pacific Fleet, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and Volkhov, from the Sea of Japan, launched cruise missiles of the Caliber complex at a sea target from a submerged position,” TASS quotes a statement from the information support department of the fleet.
It is noted that the missiles successfully hit the target - a special sea shield that imitated the surface ship of a mock enemy.
Earlier, the press service of the Russian Defense Ministry said that missile cruisers and ships of the Northern and Pacific fleets conducted anti-submarine exercises in the Mediterranean Sea.
