“Russia is determined to facilitate the conclusion of a peace treaty between Yerevan and Baku,” the press service of the Russian Foreign Ministry cites Zakharova’s statement.

She added that the "Basic principles for establishing interstate relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia" proposed by Baku and Yerevan's response are intended to become the basis for the start of Azerbaijani-Armenian negotiations on a peace treaty.

Earlier, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov discussed the possible conclusion of a peace agreement.

Russian President Vladimir Putin, during a telephone conversation with his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev, discussed work on the delimitation of the Azerbaijani-Armenian border.

The Russian leader also had a telephone conversation with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
