Johnson assigns the Navy the task of controlling immigration in the English Channel

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced Thursday that the Navy will be tasked with monitoring immigration across the English Channel from France.

"From today, the British Royal Navy will take over operational command of the Channel Border Force," Johnson said in a speech announcing London's plan to send migrants and refugees through the waterway to Rwanda.
