I vowed to respond to the "hostile acts"... an Arab country warns another against the "pretext" of war with it

The Algerian special envoy in charge of Western Sahara and the Maghreb countries, Amar Blani, warned Morocco of the possibility of the expansion of "Moroccan hostilities to Algerian territory."

In his speech to the Algerian "Al-Shorouk Online" website, Blani pledged that these "hostile acts" would not pass without consequences, describing them as "coldly orchestrated assassinations by the Moroccan government."

The Algerian diplomat said: "Any possible extension of these hostilities to the Algerian national territory could be a pretext for war, although Algeria has repeatedly stressed that it will not wage war except in the case of self-defense."

He added that Morocco seeks by all means to "obstruct trade between Algeria and Mauritania, especially since the Mauritanian president's visit to Algeria and the conclusion of an agreement between the two governments that includes the construction of a road linking southern Algeria to the Mauritanian city of Zouerate."

He continued, "Among the other undeclared goals of the Moroccan struggle are goals related to the dependence of the Mauritanian local market on some Moroccan consumer products such as citrus fruits, which pass through the disputed Guerguerat Pass."

He explained that the road project linking Tindouf and Zouerate will allow Mauritania to distance itself from "the expansionist regime of the dream of the Great Maghreb, whose imaginary borders extend on the borders of the Senegal River."

And he added: "These are the secrets and motives of the hideous assassinations that can only be compared to the acts of state terrorism that Morocco cowardly commits against peaceful merchants and innocent civilians who do not pose any threat to the Moroccan occupation forces."
